RIVERTOWN RACES UPDATE - Tuesday April 23, 2013.
RAIN, RAIN, and MORE RAIN!
The rain finally stopped. It is our wettest April in history. Grand Rapids and West Michigan are recovering from a once and a lifetime flood along the Grand RIver (worst flooding since 1904).
With this in mind, our origianl course location, Millennium Park, is almost completely under water and will not be available this Saturday.
The good new is that we have an alternate 5k and half marathon course only three miles away. We will now stage out of:
Covenant Christian High School
1401 Ferndale Avenue SW
Grand Rapids, MI 49534
We are currently working with local law enforcement in finalizing both courses and will have information to you by the end of the day on Wednesday.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through the flood of 2013!

RACE INFORMATION
Boston Marathon Tragedy
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families, first responders, and members of the running community impacted by the tragic events at the Boston Marathon this past Monday. At our race on April 27, 2013, we will observe a moment of silence in honor of the Boston Marathon and the victims of this senseless tragedy. Additionally, a portion of our proceeds will be donated to organizations supporting the vicitms.
We will also be having donation boxes at packet pick up on Friday as well as near the finish line on race day. All monies collected will go directly to the charities set up to help the victims.
These races start and finish at beautiful Millennium Park, the largest urban park in the area, located in Walker, MI, southwest of Grand Rapids. Runners will travel over roads, paved trails, and bridges while enjoying the rolling terrain, wetlands and lakes that encompass this unique location. Food and beverages, music, and family fun will be available throughout the event.
If you are training for the Fifth Third River Bank Run, this half marathon fits in nicely with the training schedule for the 13 mile run on April 27, 2013. Please join us for the inaugural Rivertown Races! More >
